Autism assessments for children and adults in Berkshire
We offer gold-standard assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We know it can be a big decision to seek an assessment for yourself or your child. We want to reassure you that we follow the NICE guidelines for assessing ASD, which are the guidelines followed by the NHS, and want to ensure the process of the assessment feels helpful and supportive.
The assessment would include sending screening questionnaires to parents and schools for child assessments and to the individual to complete for adult assessments. We would then complete an in-depth developmental history (ADI-R assessment) via video call and a face-to-face assessment using the gold-standard assessment tool ADOS-2. We will then write an in-depth report with tailored recommendations for support. Following the evaluation, we offer a feedback session to discuss any questions you may have about the assessment or report.
We are also aware that some adults and children with Autism may mask some of their difficulties, and that is ok, which is why we seek information from multiple sources.

ADHD assessments for children Berkshire
Do you or your child show any symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity or impulsivity? We also offer private assessments for Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This includes assessing for inattentive, hyperactivity and impulsive and combined presentations.
We offer gold standard ADHD assessments using tools including the QB Check and ACE Assessment. If a diagnosis has been made, we provide parents/carers with recommendations for support. Also, if someone does not meet the threshold for a diagnosis we will still support with guidance and recommendations for support.
Our ADHD assessments follow the NICE guidelines, which are the same guidelines followed by the NHS. The assessment includes questionnaires for parents and/or carers/adults, and for child assessments, we will get an account from a child’s school. However, We are aware that some children may mask their difficulties at school. We will then complete a developmental history with parents/carers for child assessment or an interview with an adult for an adult ADHD assessment. This is followed by a face-to-face assessment to complete a QB check, which is a computerised assessment that assesses for inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
As with all assessments, we will issue you a report outlining our findings and recommendations for future support. We aim to make the evaluation feel as smooth as possible for individuals and their families; please let us know if you would like us to assess this.

Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) assessments Berkshire
Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is understood to be a profile on the autism spectrum that may avoid or ignore anything that is seen as a demand or makes them feel highly anxious. This can significantly impact activities and behaviours both at home and school.
PDA is not currently recognised as a formal diagnosis but instead is seen as a profile within the Autism Spectrum. However, if a child presents with a PDA profile, this will be included in any assessment report and diagnosis.
